Probate can be a time consuming (up to a year or more) and difficult process for loved ones to go through, especially while they are grieving.
Probate in Oregon and Washington involves a good deal of paperwork that must be filed in a timely manner, and with a good amount of knowledge of the law.
We realize that this is a difficult time for our clients and we hope that our services alleviate many of their concerns by helping expedite the proceedings necessary to complete the administration of their loved one’s estate.
Our Probate Services include:
- Advise and assist the personal representative by preparing the documents necessary to initiate the probate.
- Assist in identifying the assets, preparation of the estate inventory, and the valuation of assets to be included on that inventory.
- Other services that may be necessary in the administration of an estate would include supervising the estate bank accounts, examination of and payment of claims, examining and assisting the personal representative in denying any contested claims, and coordination of the filing of income and estate tax returns with your accountant.
- We would also prepare any annual accountings and the documents necessary to close the estate, including the preparation and filing of the final account, preparation of the order approving the final account and authorizing distribution of assets, and preparation of the appropriate documents to distribute the estate assets in accordance with the will or Oregon or Washington intestate distribution law.
